Hi Everyone,
I started personal training with Sinead at D12 performance gym 2 weeks ago. Although I have done this far on my own I wanted to step my exercise regime up to the next level and lets face it you are going to work harder when you have a trainer there pushing you along.

Sinead took my body fat measurements on the first day and worked out that I had 24.5% body fat. I didn't know much about body fat so I had a little google. I literally google everything!! So it came up that 24.5% put me in the ideal category for my height and age etc.
I told her I had holidays coming up so really wanted to focus on my stomach and make it more toned. She recommended the Ketogenic diet for this. I started it the next day and I am not going to lie its been the hardest thing to do. I wasn't hungry on it but I just felt unsatisfied at meal times.
So the Ketogenic is a high fat, protein and low carb diet. Don't let low carb fool you because it seemed to me like a no carb one. I couldnt have potatoes or sweet potatoes, rice etc. None of the good stuff we all crave was allowed!!
The diet forces the body to burn fat instead of carbohydrates. So its basically 3 meals a day. 100g of meat, 100g of veg and 30g of nuts. Snacks were protein shakes or nuts.
Anyway, seen as it was only 2 weeks I decided to give it my all and stick to it 100%. I went back today to get my measurements and was delighted with the results. I lost 4.5% in the 2 weeks :)
I know I will probably put it on back on while I'm away but thats what holidays are for isn't it?!. Getting in the best shape you can before going and then eating whatever you want over there and going back to square one. All jokes aside I have been training and eating healthy for the last 4 months so I am looking forward to being able to relax and eat 1 or 10 pizza's.
